The
have been a fixture on the local scene for 16 seasons, bringing
baseball to the community with unique, fun promotions every home game.
The league, which features college players from across the country, stretches from Michigan to Thunder Bay, Ontario, to western North Dakota.
Hundreds of the league’s players end up playing professional baseball, with several hundred making Major League Baseball.
Bill Taunton Stadium, home to the Stingers, features plenty of fun not just every night, but nearly every inning with promotions, gimmicks and giveaways.
This season’s home opener is Sunday, June 1, against the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

June 1: Home opener presented by J.D. Kreps Financial Group. Live music at 3:30 p.m.
June 2: Miles 4 Mentors Night presented by Kandi Dental Center, Southwest Initiative Foundation and Bernick’s. Pre-game kids fun run. What takes longer … a baseball game or a marathon? Area cross-country teams will try to finish the marathon before the game is over.
June 3: Green Mill Gift Card Night presented by Green Mill (limited to the first 250 adults).
June 4: Stingers Baseball Cap Night presented by Heritage Bank and Pioneer Heritage Insurance (limited to the first 150 fans).
June 10: DJ Bingo Night. Fans will have an opportunity to win prizes by playing DJ Bingo.
June 12: Hawaiian Night and Jersey Giveaway presented by Quist Wealth Management. All fans will have a chance to win one of the Hawaiian jerseys worn by the Stingers.
June 13: Youth Baseball & Softball Night presented by Burlington Northern Santa-Fe Railway.
June 18: Kids Day Game presented by the Willmar Area Community Foundation and the United Way of West Central Minnesota.
June 18: Hot Dug Hundo Night. Various dollar bills will be hidden inside hot dog wrappers. One lucky fan will win $100 by purchasing a hot dog.
June 19: Central Minnesota Christian School Bluejay Nation Night presented by Bernick’s.
June 20: Willmar Fests Night. Willmar Fests candidates will compete in various events for the Stingers Willmar Fests Trophy.
June 25: Kandiyohi Power Cooperative Night.
June 26: Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Marching Band Night presented by Bernick’s. The KMS Marching Band will perform on the field before the game.
June 27: Former Stingers infielder and current Minnesota Twin Brooks Lee Jersey Night presented by Cash Wise Foods (limited to the first 200 kids).
June 28: Post-game fireworks presented by WM.
June 29: Books and Baseball Night presented by Woody’s Trucking. All kids will have an opportunity to read books with the Stingers on the field before the game at 4:30 p.m. Live music at 3:30 p.m.
June 30: Bark in the Park Night presented by South 71 Veterinary Clinic.
July 1: Veterans Appreciation Night presented by the Kandiyohi Veterans Service Office.
July 2: Bingo Night presented by Kwik Trip. All fans will have the opportunity to win prizes while playing Bingo during the game.
July 7: Edina Realty Night.
July 8: Barry Plush Doll Giveaway Night presented by Project Turnabout (limited to the first 150 kids).
July 10: T-Shirt Giveaway Night presented by Rambow (limited to the first 250 adults).
July 11: Ruff’s Gift Card Night presented Ruff’s Wings & Sports Bar (limited to the first 250 adults).
July 18: Post-game fireworks presented by WM.
July 19: Former Stingers pitchers and current Minnesota Twin and Chicago White Sox Louie and Gus Varland Double Bobblehead Night presented by Schwieters Chevrolet of Willmar (limited to the first 250 fans).
July 20: Faith and Family Night presented by Living Hope Church. Live music at 3:30 p.m.
July 21: Community All-Stars Night presented by Coordinated Business Systems.
July 22: T-Shirt Giveaway Night presented by Kandiyohi County Corn and Soybean Growers Association. The first 200 adults can choose either a “Corn Nation” or “Soybean Nation” t-shirt.
July 23: Team Trading Card Night presented by Maracom (limited to the first 250 fans).
Aug. 1: S’mores and Campout Night. Fans will have the opportunity to tent at Bill Taunton Stadium overnight.
Aug. 2: Irish Night: Post-game fireworks presented by WM.
Aug. 3: Classic Car Show Night presented by Country Stop and A&W of New London. Car show and live music starts at 2:30 p.m.
Aug. 4: Team Post Night presented by Maracom (limited to the first 250 fans).
Aug. 5: Fan Appreciation Night with post-game fireworks presented by WM.
